Here's another cover that, in some camps, doesn't really qualify. "Money Changes Everything" began as a Johnny Marr-penned instrumental that appeared as a B-side on the Smiths' 1986 single "Bigmouth Strikes Again." A year later, Marr and Bryan Ferry "finished" the song for Ferry's album, 'BĂȘte Noire.' That included lyrics, a new name ("The Right Stuff") and enough production touches to make Jeff Lynne blush. Perhaps the Smiths should have kept this one for themselves. The Ferry version managed to crack the UK's Top 40 and, in my opinion, is among his best post-Roxy Music singles. Enjoy the pops and cracks of these two songs straight from their vinyl rips.
