Happy New Year!

Let's put 2017 to bed already. My best to you and your families on this day. As for me, after an afternoon of bowling with my sons and cheering on the Seattle Seahawks as they attempt to sneak into the playoffs on this the last day of the football season, I will open a bottle of bubbly and renew my tradition of watching Big Country's legendary New Year's Eve show from Barrowland, circa 1983. Honestly, nothing brings me more joy. Until next year, then...

Happy New Year, Brian! I read your comment on Jez's blog; I'm sure the majority of Americans can't wait for the next election to right the situation.

Hi, VS. Happy New Year to you. It will be a Republican slaughter this November, but it’s hard to believe the current executive has only been in office one year. The stress level is unbearable.

I'll take Republican Slaughter for $400, Brian! Meanwhile, have a great 2018.

Beatn by two points Brian but I’m sure that didn’t spoil the rest of your day.

They didn’t deserve it, Drew. A season of disappointment. Even had they won, they needed help with a Falcons loss and didn’t get that either. Hope your get together was a blast.

Hey, Johnny. It’s a new year. So, let’s clear this up. Is it Jonny or Johnny? Both spellings have been used extensively on the blogs.

The pendulum always swings a bit in the mid-terms, but I think this next election is going to be epic. Lots of buyer’s remorse with the middle of the road voters who couldn’t hold their noses and cast a ballot for the other candidate in the presidential election.

Happy New Years, Brian. Like you, I'm not sorry to see the back of 2017. Better days ahead...

It's Jonny. But it's Johnny when I'm Johnny Bottoms, outlaw country bassist. We both wish everyone a happy new year!

Brian, my friend, a very happy 2018 to you and your loved ones: health, money for records, more brilliant posts, but most of all health!

Hope we'll meet again soon!
